Elaine McKinnon (Ward) and her husband Dan own and operate a 20 acre private ranch located west of Millet Alberta. Originally based in Ontario up until late 2022, Elaine needs no introduction to the horse world. She has trained horses to Grand Prix Dressage, won countless National and International accolades and is the founder of the Western Style Dressage Association of Canada. Her students have won National titles in Dressage, Western Dressage and Sport Horse Arabian Championships. Dan McKinnon enjoys riding both horses and his Harley's and is talented at just about everything! His project this year is to beautify the new property.

Elaine has been involved in Dressage for 5 decades. Since 1973 Elaine has ridden and studied with classical masters of the world and has developed her own unique style of teaching. Her knowledge on the subject of dressage is combined with rider bio-mechanics and rock solid theories. Add a little bit of humour and you have the perfect teacher ready to help you on your journey of correct horsemanship. There is no other teacher like Elaine. Her ability to detect an issue with a horse or rider and begin to correct it is pretty amazing! Some of her students have even asked if she was psychic! She often explains she knows the language of the horse, and her job is to interpret it to the rider to improve the partnership. Its amazing whatever it is.
